"Running a marathon is like having a baby."
- Merri K. Hackett
The pregnancy is like the training. It takes a long long time and you are tired everyday. You doubt yourself and ask if you're ready for this. And I don't think you ever feel ready. The labor is like running the race. You say you're never going to do this again and it hurts so bad. And you ask yourself why in the world did I want to put myself through so much pain?
The delivery is like crossing the finish line and you somehow forget all of the pain and think it was all worth it! And for some strange reason you want to do it all over again.

That seems like the perfect analogy. Although I've never trained for one, I can imagine that you doubt a lot if your ready or not. I felt that way training for halfs. And then afterward you want to do another one. What was it you were saying about reminding wes to never let you do it again? :)
Merri, you are amazing. I was thinking about you and was going to send you this awesome email that was going to get you so motivated for your big race and excited to run...then I forgot. But you didn't even need it! Have I told you you're my hero...because you are :)
Dang, you are FAST! Now you need to do the Logan Marathon next year so I can cheer you on!
